Insight waiting period trimmed
Petaling Jaya, 11 August 2011 – Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“Honda Malaysia” or the “Company) expects the sales of Insight to regain momentum after the earthquake and Tsunami in Japan that caused shortage of supply and delay in delivery. The Production in Japan has recovered since June and the waiting period for Insight has been shortened to less than a month. Previously, the waiting period for Insight was two to three months long. All authorised Honda dealers have resumed taking order for Insight since June 1 after a brief suspension from April till May.
Selling at RM 99,800 the Insight offers superb fuel efficiency with Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system, enhanced athletic driving performance and a dynamic exterior.
“Insight emerged as a popular choice among the Green customers as it arrived in Malaysia at the right time at the right price. Thanks to the Government, both import and excise duty are exempted, thus making Insight more affordable,” remarked Yoichiro Ueno, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia.
Following its auspicious debut in December last year, Insight has appealed to a whole new target market who had not considered hybrid vehicles before. In six months since the launch on February 15, Honda Malaysia has sold more than 3,000 units, which exceeded 75% of the annual target.
“Now that the production in Japan has resumed with full force, the supply for Insights is very much improved. Hence now is a good time to visit Honda’s authorised dealer and book the car,” Ueno ended with an upbeat note.
