MARA acquires 32 midi buses

Selangor, 15 April 2021 – Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM) handed over 32 units of Hino XZU720R-HKFRL1, midibus model recently to Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) in the presence of Dato’ Hajah Azizah binti Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Mohd Dun, chairman and top management.

“This implementation of bringing in new buses is our initiative to ensure our public services to society sits at the best level. To give the best to society, each of these new buses is built in compliance with the United Nations Regulation (UNR) by Malaysian agencies,” said Dato’ Hajah Azizah.

“HINO brand started emerging in our bus network since the ’80s. It is a long journey and throughout the operation, we see that it has set its standard on supporting customer needs. It has shown a customer-centric approach and fully understands our business needs,” said Fazli Rizal Ismail, director, transport industry division.

As the sole Japanese manufacturer for midibuses in Malaysia, it comes with a 156ps engine and 6-speed manual transmission, making the 8-10meter midibus is the best-fit model to navigating as hop-on-hop-off public transport in rural areas. It is fitted with tubeless tyre, reassuring safety by slow release of air in cases of tyre puncture and prevents the vehicle from instant failure. It’s lighter in weight with lower rolling resistance helps in reducing fuel consumption. In compliance with United Nations Regulation (UNR) by JPJ, this midibus is fitted with Energy-Absorbing Steering Wheel and Speed Limiter setting at 100km/h.

HMSM also takes an initiative to improve driving skills among commercial vehicle drivers through the establishment of its training centre, Hino Total Support Customer Center (HTSCC) in Sendayan. Putting the priority of its fleet drivers, MARA has also registered all their bus drivers to undergo professional driver training offered by HMSM.
