Bhd., are part of the leading international automotive supplier Continental Corporation, with 2 tires manufacturing plants in Petaling Jaya and Alor Setar, and an electronic and electro-mechanical automotive parts manufacturing plant in Prai, Penang. Continental in Malaysia holds a media session providing its business updates followed by a dinner in appreciation of the media for their continuous support and interest in Continental.

Continental Automotive Malaysia has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry. In 1985, it started producing instrument clusters for the first Proton Saga model. Today it includes major OEM automakers locally and globally. Currently, Continental is also the sole supplier for instrument clusters for almost all car models of Perodua and Proton, including Proton’s newest model. With its manufacturing plant in Prai, Penang, Continental has a complete range of efficient R&D facilities and produces also electronic and electro-mechanical automotive products such as modular fuel supply units, body control modules, electronic control units for different automotive applications, and engine management systems.

Since their establishment in 1985, Continental Automotive Malaysia has been exporting their automotive components to major automakers globally. The plant is export dependent since 1988, with approximately 70% of its output sold overseas to clients such as BMW, Audi and the PSA Group, such as electronic parking brakes for BMW and the PSA Group, key fobs for Nissan, and analog clock mechanisms for Mercedes-Benz.
In Malaysia, Continental also operates two tyre manufacturing facilities. One located in Petaling Jaya, Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd, where Truck and Bus Radial as well as OTR tyres for agricultural and industrial use are produced. The other facility is located in Alor Star where the company manufactures several brands of Passenger and Light Truck Radial tyres as well as motorcycle tyres. The Tire division in Malaysia employs approx. 2,500 people.
Continental operates the largest tyre dealer distribution network, including more than 1,200 tyre outlets that provide a wide range of tyres and services to motorists throughout the country. The company operates a Technology Centre in Petaling Jaya that transmits Continental’s latest tyre technology to Continental’s factories in Alor Star and Petaling Jaya. Its laboratories are accredited with ISO/IEC 17025 certifications.
