Hartmut Mueller retires
Kuala Lumpur, 27 April 2018 – MAN Truck and Bus (M) Sdn Bhd announced at a special gathering the early retirement of their managing director, Hartmut Meuller effective 30 April. The current management team comprising of Jerome Wong, general manager, sales & marketing and Thayalan Subramaniam, head of aftersales, are to be acting heads pending the appointment of his successor.
“It has been an honour to serve and head MAN Malaysia. Our strong presence and strategies we have implemented have put us on a strong growth path,” said Hartmut Meuller.
“One of our achievements is the delivery of 62 trucks to the Ministry of Civil Defence recently,” he answered a question.
“The challenges for the company include the take-over by Hap Seng, the Daimler bus & truck business and e-commerce changing the traditional way goods are transported,” he said in response to your question.
“The transportation industry has to become more systematic and organised,” he added.
MAN is expected to launch their fully electric powered bus in 2019 and it may take another 3 to 4 years for it to arrive in Malaysia.
During his tenure, MAN had made headway into both corporate and government sectors. Among the customers include Mara Liner Sdn Bhd, Lee Ting San group of companies and Taipanco Sdn Bhd.
