New Croner

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASerdang, 23 August 2017 – The all-new Croner medium-duty truck was launched today in the presence of Dato’ Tan Heng Chew, president, Dato’ Rosie Tan, senior executive vice-president, Tan Chong Holdings Bhd, Dato’ Robert Tan, CEO, APM Automotive Holdings Bhd, Häkan Karlson, president, Volvo Group Trucks Asia & JVs, Jacques Michel, president, Volvo Group Trucks Asia Sales, Filip Van den Heede, managing director, hub Malaysia, Toshihiko Odawara, vice-president, product management, UD Trucks, Tan Keng Meng, executive director, Wong King Voon, CEO, Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd, dealers, customers and business associates.

“This launch reflects the continuous broadening of UD Trucks product range in Malaysia to meet customers’ needs as it follows the successful launch of the Quester 8-litre series late last year,” said Tan Keng Meng.

“The service intervals have been increased for the Corner which results in savings,” said Karlson.

“The Corner offers the widest range of variants, with  higher torque and there has been no compromise in its creation,” said Odawara.

“The Telematics included in very unit comes with track & trace feature and is offered free-of-charge initially for the period of one year,” said Wong King Voon in reply to a question.

“After the initially first year, RM90 will be charged per truck,” he added.

“Currently our market share is 5.2% and just over 20% in the medium-duty truck segment,” said Wong King Voon responding to another question.

The standout features of the Croner are the factory fitted Telematics system, a unique system for better fleet management and UD Trust service agreement designed to lower total ownership costs.

The 100% financing at 3.2% offered by UD Financial services is bound to be music for fleet operators.

There are 43 service centers throughout Peninsular and East Malaysia. In addition, 24/7 service trucks deliver quality service, skilled technicians and genuine parts. In the near future, UD mobile (mobile service truck) will be introduced to offer basic service at any location and this is intended to increase up-time.
