Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2017

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAKuala Lumpur, 23 March 2017 – The 10th edition of Automechanika  Kuala Lumpur, was officially launched today by Datuk Seri Ir. Wee Ka Siong, minister in the Prime Minister’s department, in the presence of exhibitors from 18 countries, visitors and media from the region.

“This year’s show has attracted 286 exhibitors from 18 countries and we are expecting about 8,000 visitors,” said Fiona Chew, deputy general manager, Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co. Ltd.

“The expo in 2019 has also been confirmed and the dates are 21-23March,” she replied in our question.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA“We exported RM11 billion worth of auto parts in 2016 and are hoping that this sector will grow at a faster pace in the near future with the technological advancement made by industry,” said Datuk Seri Wee.

“Our productivity rate at the moment is 2.3% and our target is 4% which is the minimum for long term sustainability,” he added.

Automechanika is one the biggest after-market expo held in a number of countries around the world. This year’s highlights are EMMA, car audio tuning competition, Mechanics Challenge and Collision Repair Training Workshop.

The venue is Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and the opening hours are from 10.00 to 6 pm daily from 23 to 25 March.
