Scania awards 12 apprentices
Shah Alam, 25 January 2017 – Scania in collaboration with Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKNB) Kuala Perlis today presented certificates to 12 graduates of the Scania Apprenticeship Programme in the presence of Marie Sjödin Enström, managing director, Scania Sotheast Asia, Muhamed Shukri Bin Abdul Mookmin, deputy director, Mohd Norazwan Bin Ab. Kader – head of automotive department, Mohamad Aswadi bin Mohamad – head of section heavy equipment, IKBN.
“This initiative is to develop more skilled technicians for Malaysia’s growing heavy commercial vehicle sector and meet the needs of the nation besides our customers,” said Maire.
“We wish to also welcome these six new apprentices who will undergo 3 months of intensive training and after which, those selected will spend 9 months at our branches,” she added.
The programme commenced in 2014 with the aim of developing a continuous source of highly skilled new talents to meet the needs of the nationwide Scania service network. It is open to any training institution for individuals or fresh graduates with at least two years of education at certificate level in commercial automotive studies, a minimum academic CGPA of 3.0 and above or equivalent, as well as be able to read, write and speak English.
Scania and IKBN developed this programme which involves the syllabus, industrial training, apprentice’s attachment and employment for graduates later with Scania.
