Perodua targets market share of 34% this year

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA17 January 2017 – Perodua announced today, their performance for 2016 and projection for 2017 during a media Chinese New Year luncheon hosted by Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh, president & CEO, together with other senior Perodua executives.

“The total market TIV saw a 13% drop to 579,600 in 2016 and our market share was 35.7% or 207,100 units,” Aminar said.

“With our projected TIV of 590,000 units in 2017, we are setting a target of 34% or 202,000 units,” he added.

“2016 was a challenging year and we are happy to announce that we sold 36,000 units of the Bezza even though it was only launched in July,” he stressed.

The plans laid out for 2017 include launching of a pre-owned vehicle outlet in the Klang valley, new models, increase in exports and increase capital expenditure for upgrading the plant and also the dealers.
