2nd Scania Marcopolo for Siang Malam Express & Travel
Shah Alam, 7 December 2016 – The first company in Malaysia to invest in the new Scania Marcopolo, Siang Malam Travel & Express Sdn Bhd, took delivery of their 2nd unit today at a hand-over ceremony held at the Scania Southeast Asia office.
“We were confident enough to be the first to buy the Scania Marcopolo coach when it was first launched to give it a try,” said Kee Kim Yong, managing director, Siang Malam.
“Our premium tour services and private charters are from Johor Bahru to various locations in Peninsular Malaysia. The Marcopolo is an ideal premium bus to cater for the ever demanding needs of our customers,” said Tan Kim Siang, director, Siang Malam.
“Besides this 2nd unit, we have placed an order for two more units to add to our existing fleet of 9 buses,” he added.
“We’re excited to continue to deliver more Scania Marcopolo’s to Siang Malam and financed by Scania Credit,” said Marie Sjödin Enström, managing director, Scania Southeast Asia.

The total value of the four units is estimated to be more than RM 2 million.
The monocoque design results in higher body strength and more luggage space with the lighter, streamlined designed body resulting in lower fuel consumption and a higher payload. .
For drivers, the Marcopolo has an adjustable steering wheel and hanging pedals, which provide better ergonomics and comfort for a car-like feel. A powerful engine with higher torque at lower revs gives better driveability and fuel economy. Whilst best in class gear-change of the Scania Opticruise reduces clutch wear and reduces synchromesh wear.
