New Mazda CX-3
Shah Alam, 8 December 2015 – The all-new CX-3, a scaled down version of the CX-5 was launched today in the presence of Hiroshi Inoue, executive officer, Michio Tomiyama, program manager, Toichi Matsuda, chief designer, Mazda Motor Corporation, Dato Sri Ben Yeoh, executive director, Bermaz Motor, Dato Amer Hamzah, executive director, Prima Merdu, dealers and guests.
“This CX-3 will be CBU from Japan and a CKD version will be considered depending on the local market response,” said Hiroshi Inoue.
“A study is currently being undertaken on the possibility of introducing the Skyactive diesel in the near future,” he added.
“Although the CX-3 is assembled in Thailand, as it does have 40% local content, it cannot enjoy zero tariff under AFTA,” said Dato Sri Ben Yeoh.
“This B segment CX-3 is a freestyle crossover targeted at young couples and families leading an active lifestyle,” said Michio Tomiyama.
The CX-3 carries itself with style, has a long hood, short overhangs, large wheels and a slim cabin presenting proportions that lend themselves to a sense of strength and vitality, conveying a sense of motion even when standing still. It is power by 2.0-litre Skyactive-G engine used in the Mazda 3 and CX-5
Other features include the i-STOP and the MZD CONNECT, the connectivity system equipped with the Human-Machine Interface (HMI), which pursues safety as its top priority. The CX-3 also comes with the Active Driving Display, the first head-up display in its class, just like the Mazda2.
The CX-3 comes with sun roof and 18 inch sports rim. It is be available in Soul Red Metallic, Crystal White Pearl, Jet Black, Meteor Gray, and Deep Crystal Blue. Selling price is RM131,218.50 OTR without insurance.
