All-new 3rd generation Navara

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAShah Alam, 26 November 2015 – Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) today launched the all-new Navara NP300 and the event was officiated by Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan, International Trade and Industry Minister II. Also present, were Dato’ Tan Heng Chew, president, Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng, executive director, ETCM, Kenji Naito, senior vice-president, Nissan Asia Pacific Co. Ltd and guests.

“This NP300 replaces the D40 and is imported from Thailand. It is the first Japanese pick-up truck with multi-link rear suspension and it comes from the rich 80 year Nissan heritage,” said Dato’ Dr Ang.

“The NP300 won the International Pick-up Truck of the year 2016 award recently and has been successful in many countries,” said Naito.

“2015 has been a productive year for the automotive industry and this sector has created 21,072 jobs,” said Dato’ Seri Ong.

This model features a first-in-class, full LED Headlamp with boomerang-shaped Daytime Running Light frames Nissan’s signature ‘V-motion’ grille, a new rear spoiler and new 18-inch alloy wheels.

It is powered by an improved 2.5L YD25DDTi variable geometry system (VGS) turbo intercooler engine, and fitted with a first-in-class seven-speed automatic transmission with manual mode for better acceleration. A maximum output of 190 PS at 450Nm/2,000rpm makes it the most powerful pickup in its class.

The key safety features are Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and Active Brake Limited Slip for vehicle stability. Other features are child seat retainer (ISOFIX with tether), Vehicle Dynamic Control and Traction Control System, Anti-locking Braking System, Electronic Brake Force distribution, and Brake Assist.

This Navara offers the single and double cab options. There will be five variants at the starting price of RM79,200 on-the-road with GST without insurance.
