New Chevrolet Cruze

Kuala Lumpur, 10 June 2010 -  Naza Group of Companies introduced the Chevrolet Cruze and the launch was officiated by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Cruze comes with a 1.8-litre, 4-cylinder power plant featuring Double Continuous Variable Cam Phasing (DCVCP) and Variable Intake System (VIS) to produce 140hp at 6,200 rpm and 176Nm of torque at 3,800rpm. It is a front wheel drive with a new, first-in-class six-speed automatic transmission that also has shiftronic function. The safety area is addressed by the 5-star Euro-NCAP rating.

“The Cruze’s success in the region and beyond is a testimony of the car’s superior characteristics,” said Joint Group Executive Chairman Dato’ Hj SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin.

“This will be the first of the many Chevrolet products in Malaysia and as we have constantly strived to showcase the widest choices to Malaysians,” he added.

“We are confident and committed to our partner Pavilion Crest and to the Malaysian motoring market,” said Martin Apfel, President of General Motors, Southeast Asian Operations.

The price is RM97,888 without insurance and the target is to sell 1,000 units in 2010.
