Hyundai Announces 2010 FIFA World Cup™ National Team Slogans

Shah Alam, 19 May 2010 - As one of the six FIFA top partners, Hyundai Motor Company recently announced the national team slogans of 32 countries which have qualified for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ South Africa.  More than 52,000 football fans around the world participated in the automaker’s sole and exclusive program, ‘Be There with Hyundai (BTWH),’ to compete in the creation of slogans for their national teams.

BTWH program retained its reputation as one of the most successful marketing programs during the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ Germany, sparking huge media interest.  In collaboration with FIFA, the program was once again carried out for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.  The participants submitted their team slogans from December 2009 to March 2010 through Hyundai’s 2010 FIFA World Cup™ micro-website (online), fifaworldcup.hyundai.com, and worldwide sales and service networks (offline).  Local distributors and dealers that have participated in the planning and execution were impressed and, in some cases, even overwhelmed by the results.

The winning team slogans of the ‘Be There with Hyundai’ program, selected through online voting on the FIFA.com website from April 26 to May 10, will be decorated on 32 national team buses with their national team colours and flags.  The program harnesses the powerful emotions of football fans to generate high levels of media exposure.

Winners of the Hyundai BTWH program in each World Cup™ participating country will be awarded with Hyundai’s stylish subcompact hatchback, i10, or an equivalent model available in the local dealership as a prize.
