Tyreplus now in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, 9 December 2009 - Malaysian drivers looking for a ‘one-stop car service centre’ that offers renowned tyre brands and professional car maintenance expertise need look no further following the launch of the TYREPLUS outlet at Tyrezone Sdn. Bhd. in Taman Megah on November 1, 2009.

Supported by MICHELIN Malaysia Sdn Bhd, TYREPLUS is an independent professional network of tyre retail stores that offers MICHELIN and BFGoodrich branded tyres and also provides professional tyre services such as tyre repairs, wheel balancing and wheel alignment.

TYREPLUS also offers non-tyre related services such as oil and battery changes, comprehensive brake inspection and replacement, and minor mechanical repair services all under one roof at competitive prices in a clean, friendly, safe and comfortable environment.

MICHELIN Malaysia Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Yves Pouliquen said Malaysians were passionate about their vehicles and would appreciate a vehicle service centre that was trustworthy and offered them peace of mind when it was time to send their cars for tyre maintenance and service.

“The launch of TYREPLUS is timely as Malaysian drivers are becoming more discerning and will patronise vehicle service centres that offer high quality, efficient and a variety of services by knowledgeable, reliable and well trained staff who aim to provide a high level of retail and service experience.

“The TYREPLUS concept is a win-win situation for both consumers and the dealers. Backed by the strength and support of the MICHELIN brand, TYREPLUS offers dealers the opportunity to enhance their professional skills beyond tyre services and upgrade to a multi-brand concept store that encompasses the retailing of tyres, accessories and a workshop which is well equipped with the latest equipment to manage consumers’ expectations for quality vehicle maintenance services.
According to Pouliquen, MICHELIN has always emphasised on the importance of basic tyre and car maintenance to improve a vehicle’s overall performance and safety.

“Our partnership with TYREPLUS exemplifies our commitment to provide consumers with quality and convenient solutions to meet the challenging demand of their vehicles. We are confident that the multi-brand concept of TYREPLUS will appeal to consumers, especially those who are busy and want efficient, professional, reliable and trustworthy automotive and tyre services that help them to save time and money,” Pouliquen added.

Meanwhile, Gary Wong, owner of Tyrezone Sdn. Bhd., said its association with TYREPLUS would help to enhance the store’s image and offer consumers the confidence to seek its professional services.

“We feel privileged to have the opportunity to launch a TYREPLUS store which is widely recognised worldwide in providing the best form of technical expertise and customer service, thanks to MICHELIN’s strong reputation as a global leader in the tyre industry,” said Wong.

Besides the Tyrezone outlet, there are three other TYREPLUS stores nationwide, namely Perniagaan Tayar & Bateri Teik Leong Sdn. Bhd. in Jelutong, Penang , CKL Subang Jaya Sdn. Bhd., Selangor and UTS Tyre Service Sdn. Bhd. in Temerloh, Pahang.

TYREPLUS was established in 2002 and is currently present in countries such as Australia, China, Thailand, Russia, India, Taiwan and Mexico. The advantages of being a TYREPLUS owner include the flexibility of independent ownership without the restrictions of a franchise agreement; the benefit of security and support of being part of a national network while maintaining independence; and exclusive technical and retail training for employees.
