GSC Mid Valley 10th Anniversary Contest Grand Finals
The 10 finalists, shortlisted from thousands of participating SMS entries received since the kick off of the contest on Dec 2, were first put to trial on their memory skills after being treated to a screening of Oscar winning movie, "Departures".
Set up in a mock reality TV show environment in one of GSC Mid Valley’s halls, a range of easy to difficult questions about the movie were posed and each contestant was given only one chance to answer. The game was conducted using the "The Sudden Death" mechanics, whereby a contestant was immediately eliminated if the wrong answer was given. This went on until only 3 finalists remained.
The 3 finalists were then placed in the final challenge involving a task on their knowledge on GSC Mid Valley. It was a nail biting experience as the 3 contestants sweated it out for a chance to win the Grand Prize, a Hyundai Avante 2.0 and other attractive prizes including a 1 year GSC VIP Movie Pass worth a total of over RM 100,000.00
Other amazing prizes up for grabs for the two other finalists included a Jen Siow painted portrait worth RM 12,000, a 3D2N trip to Macau for 2 worth RM 5,000.00, Panasonic LCD TVs, Sony PS3 game console, Samsung Mobile Phones, Panasonic Air Conditioning Units, GSC Movie Passes, and many more.
Also on site to witness the dramatic finale of the "GSC Mid Valley 10th Anniversary Contest", and to present the prizes to the winners was General Manager of Golden Screen Cinemas Sdn Bhd, Mr Irving Chee, who took the opportunity to thank GSC Mid Valley customers for their unwavering support for the past decade.
"When we first opened GSC Mid Valley back in 1999, it was launched right in the midst of the last Asian Financial crisis. Throughout the decade, we have since surpassed all expectations and have grown from strength to strength. With over 24 million customers walking through our doors since opening, we expect to serve approximately 3.0 million customers this year.
"GSC Mid Valley may be a decade old but the facilities are continuously upgraded to provide a total movie entertainment in the best halls with the best customer service to our customers. GSC Mid Valley now has two 3D capable digital halls to project digital 2D and 3D movies to further enhance the cinema going experience. In 2010, we expect to add more digital 3D systems as there will more than 16 digital 3D movies slated for release. The whole world is moving towards digital 3D that offers a much more superior experience in terms of clarity, colour, contrast, sound and projection. GSC, as always, will be the first to bring new technology to our cinemas throughout Malaysia," said Chee.
