Kuala Lumpur, 25 November 2009 – Naza Kia Sdn Bhd (NKSB) today announced the arrival of the all-new Kia Forte. It was designed by Peter Schreyer, Europe’s highly acclaimed automotive designer.

By combining the latest technologies into the four-speed ‘Gate-Type’ transmission, the Forte 1.6 EX, 1.6 SX, and 2.0 SX models wil set themselves apart from the competitors by offering a high level of specifications, superior styling, design and handling which will rival any competitor in its segment.

“The Forte is a complete package for those who want style, functionality, technology and safety. Its low wedge shaped design also enhances the performance of the car with increased fuel efficiency. The Forte is capable of delivering its worth and we are confident that it will be a frontrunner within its league,” said SM Nasaruddin SM Nasimuddin, CEO, Naza Kia Sdn Bhd.

“Our aim is to provide customers and potential Kia owners with vehicle of quality and performance. Todate, the Forte has achieved a total overseas market sale of 237,402 units. We hope to sell 6,000 units of the locally assembled Forte annually,” he added.

The 1.6 SX variant comes with the ‘Smart Key’ and push-button ignition that start and stops the engine with simple operation. While the 2.0 SX model is powered by the Theta II 2.0 DOHC CVVT engine capable of 156PS at a high torque of 194Nm.

The Forte 1.6 EX is priced at RM75,800 on-the-road while the 1.6 SX and 2.0 SX are priced at RM81,800 and RM93,800 on-the-road respectively. The colour options are Clear White, Bright Silver, Metal Bronze, Titanium Silver Spicy Red and Ebony Black.
