Castrol Mechanic Academy

Kuala Lumpur, 5 November 2009 – Castrol unveiled plans for an inaugural Castrol Mechanic Academy which will be a 2 month campaign to engage and reward its trade partners by improving the levels of service provided in the automotive industry. This B2B initiative is also part of the on-going World Cup 2010 marketing campaign that kicked off in July 2009.

Castrol Mechanic Academy is the first of its kind in Malaysia and has been designed with the help of automotive industry experts especially for mechanics at the independent workshops as well as Castrol Auto Service centres. The one-day workshop on 13th December will educate participants on the latest trends and developments in modern automotive technology (engine, gearbox, ABS, hybrid technology), the role of lubricants in high performance engines. Through these selected content, Castrol hopes to equip participants with the tools to provide a superior level of service to customers.

On the actual day of the workshop, participants will go through theory and practical sessions. The practical sessions will also serve as the shortlist for entry into the Castrol  Mechanic Idol. This is an added incentive for the mechanics to deliver winning performances as it will deliver fame and recognition.

This Castrol Mechanic Idol final will take place at a Mechanic Academy Graduation Gala Dinner for all participants, their families and the workshop owners later that evening. The event will also see the best performing participant crowned the Castrol Mechanic Idol and awarded with a trophy, all-expenses paid holiday and professional tool set worth approximately RM7,000. The workshop will receive RM10,000 worth of Castrol products and there will a total of RM70,000 worth of prizes given away.
