A bolder and sportier Camry

Subang Jaya, 2 September 2009 – The Camry forms about 10% of Toyota sales this year and this refreshed Camry is expected to continue its success as the leading executive sedan.

“Over the years, the Camry has built a strong reputation for its quality, reliability, comfort and design. It has become the ‘Most Popular Mid-Sized Executive Sedan,” said Kuah Kock Heng, President, UMW Toyota Motor.

“This success has continued with the current generation Toyota Camry which was launched in October 2009. We have sold more than 28,000 units thereby cementing the Camry’s position as the preferred “Vehicle of Choice” for Executives whi wish to make a statement,” he added.

The current generation Camry offers three variants with the 2.4V, 2.0G and 2.0E. The most popular among the variants is the 2.0G as it had registered more than 12.300 units on the road since 2006 while the 2.4V had sold around 11,000 units.

There are a number of changes including the redesigned front grille, headlamp and rear bumper. The rear combination lamp design and alloy rim also gets a refreshed look. In the 2.4V variant, the Smart Entry & Start system is available with cruise control and an auxiliary jack that enables portable music devices like the iPod.

A new colour offered is the Grey Metallic besides the other 5 body colours already available. The 2.0E will also be available is the popular Pearl White.

The on-the-road price for company registration with insurance in Peninsular Malaysia is RM145,816.10 (2.0E AT), RM155,829.10 (2.0G AT) and RM176.580.11 (2.4V AT)

This Camry will be available is all Toyota outlets from 4 September in Peninsular Malaysia and 11 September in East Malaysia and Labuan.
