‘Get Avalanched’ contest prize winners

Kuala Lumpur, 16 March 2009 – It took Surgitha Singh Daniel just one action on his part to bring an avalanche of gifts his way at Volvo’s service centre. He sent his Volvo S80 2.0T for servicing and repairs at the Swedish Marque service centre.

What was supposed to be a regular visit turned out to be one that he will always remember. Singh won the first prize in the ‘Get Avalanched’ contest organized by Volvo Car Malaysia 2008/09.

“It was a fantastic feeling knowing that I had won the first prize,” said Singh. He continued, “for me … it’s Volvo for life. I like how it feels to drive a Volvo and I’m proud of the safety aspects of the brand. Winning this contest is a real bonus for me and my family.”

When asked on what he thought about the quality of service, he said, “I’ve been driving three Volvo models for the past 10 years and I regularly send my car in for servicing and repairs and I must say that they have serviced me well.”

Singh officially won the grand prize comprising a RM5,000 voucher for parts and accessories, and a Portable Navigation System worth RM2,650 for the ‘Get Avalanched” Volvo campaign which began December 1, 2008 until January 31, 2009. He simply submitted his entry forms, answered 3 simple questions and completed a slogan, after he had noticed the contest banner at the service centre.

The second prize winner, Ng Sean Cho won a RM3,000 voucher for parts and accessories, and a Portable Navigation System worth RM2, 650. While the third prize winner is Firoz Hussein b Ahmad who won RM1,000 voucher for parts and accessories and a Portable Navigation System.

Two consolation prizes of RM1,000 voucher for parts and accessories went to Wan Zainuddin bin Wan Md Salleh and Michael Raj consecutively.

Robert Norrman, President of Volvo Car Malaysia congratulated Singh on his prize and valued his loyalty to the brand.

“Ensuring safety on the roads is of paramount importance to Volvo. I urge all Volvo owners, to regularly service their cars at authorized Volvo dealers. This way, they are ensured of trained, professional support with all the warranties for parts and service and, a trouble-free car.

And trouble-free cars would mean safer roads for the driver and their families as well as other road users,” Norrman said.
