Today, MBT offers eight technical courses namely Motor Mechanics, Printing, Welding, Carpentry, Machining, Computer Maintenance, Graphic Design & Multimedia, and Bakery & Pastry. The courses are conducted based on the the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) – (Malaysian Skill Certificate) which is accredited to the Malaysian Council of Vocational Training. “We hope to remain in a long term partnership with Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd as this training course will equip our students with the relevant skills and knowledge to secure employment in the future,” he added. “Bosch is committed to education and is glad to be able to make a positive contribution to such an outstanding organization like MBT. By sharing our knowledge through the ‘train-the trainer’ programme we are able impart the requisite high tech skills and product knowledge needed to cope with the increasingly complex equipment used in vehicles today,” said Alexander Haid, Director of Automotive Aftermarket for ASEAN. Also present at the event were Cem Peksaglam, President and Managing Director of Robert Bosch (SEA) Pte Ltd and Woon Kim Hwa, General Manager of Automotive Division, Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd who signed on behalf of Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd. “In addition, a sum of RM20,000 will be donated to Monfort Boys Town to cover the training expenses such as materials, transport and maintainance of equipment via Primavera fund. Primavera is an association of present and past Bosch associates founded to support projects of Bosch Group sites worldwide for the benefit of children and young people in need,” said Cem Peksaglam, President and Managing Director of Robert Bosch (SEA) Pte Ltd. The Bosch Training Base at MBT will be equipped with Bosch Diesel Fuel Injection Pump Calibration Test Bench and specialized tools. The students will be provided theoretical training on the Diesel Fuel Injection System such as mechanical in-line and distributor type pump, governor and injectors. The students will also receive intensive hands-on training on dismantling, re-assembling, testing and adjustment of fuel injection pumps. This diesel specialised training is integrated into MBT’s 2-year automotive curriculum. Completion of the diesel training will allow the students to sit for a Bosch examination to evaluate their competency level. A joint certificate will be issued by Bosch and MBT to students who pass the exam. Upon graduation, MBT students who have undergone the programme will be given priority for job placements with Bosch and its business partners. |
