A CSR effort by Mercedes-Benz Thailand

Phayao Province, 21 January 2009 - Praved Moonthongsong , Senior Training Manager, Mercedes-Benz (Thailand) delivered a library building, books and supplies to Thawatchai Singhachan, Director of Baan Mae Kha School (Muang district, Phayao province). Nuttapol Suwanlop, Deputy Director of Phayao Education Service Area Office 1, presided over the recent building opening.

Baan Mae Kha School, Phayao province is a school for students aged 3 to 15 (Kindergarten to Middle School or Matthayom 3) comprising 195 students (including Thai local, Yao and Lisaw students) and 15 teachers. At present, the school does not only have insufficient resource in teaching buildings, but also in library resources and stationery.

The construction included 1 storey with 4 roomed building built from 13th to 19th December 2008 by training department officers and training students from training centre, central service department, Mercedes-Benz (Thailand). Besides, books and stationery were also supplied to the school. 

“This is only one of many social responsibility activities that Mercedes-Benz has been committed to for a number of years,” said Prof.Dr. Alexander Pauffler, President and CEO, Mercedes-Benz (Thailand).

“We are delighted that children in a remote area will benefit from the new building and the enhanced library and stationery facilities,” he said.
