TD cars a hit at The British International Motor Show
The TD 2000 stood its ground attracting large numbers of the almost 28,000 visitors on the first day of the show as both curious visitors and antique car lovers were drawn to its unique display of brawn and beauty. A testament to its timeless charisma, several test drives have already been booked through TD’s London dealer, Trimer Sports Cars. TD Cars (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd managing director Edward Teo said: “We’re indeed proud to keep the Malaysian flag flying high here in Britain as the Malaysian made TD 2000 is on display alongside some of the world’s most magnificent and exotic cars.” ”The TD 2000 also attracted a myriad of visitors comprising the young, middle aged, male and female alike, dispelling the myth that only middle aged men are interested in marques. There were also many American visitors enquiring when the TD 200 would make its debut on the West Coast,” said Tom Martin, TD Car’s UK dealer. The British International Motor Show held from July 23 to August 3, is a biennial showcase of the latest on wheels and is recognized as an international show by the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d'Automobiles. The total number of visitors this year is expected to reach 500,000. The TD 2000 is assembled by Perusahaan Otomobil National Sdn Bhd (PROTON) and is the only Malaysian made car exhibited at the show. This up-to-the-minute classic is equipped with leading edge technology – a 1998cc, twin-cam, 130bhp, fuel-injected engine and five speed gearbox plus disc brakes on all wheels.
