Kuala Lumpur, 30 June 2008 - UMW Toyota Motor’s 2008 On-line Treasure Hunt concluded recently with the presentation of prizes to the top five winners. The Toyota On-line Hunt ran for seven weeks and saw participants from around Malaysia following a trail of clues on various environmentally-themed websites.

The story behind the on-line hunt was that our harmful activities on Earth have made Mother Nature angry and only through participating in the on-line hunt can we appease her. The On-line Hunt was held in conjunction with the Toyota Eco Youth, an environment awareness programme aimed at secondary school students.

The list of the top five winners and the prizes awarded are as follows:

First prize : Mr. Banthik Putra Monginsidi - 8GB iPod Touch
Second prize : Ms. Doreen Tian Hui Leen  - 8GB iPod Nano
Third prize : Ms. Hean Mang Lii   - 4GB iPod Nano
Fourth prize : Ms. Loke Swee Hoon    - 2GB iPod Shuffle
Fifth prize : Mr. Oh Boon Jin   - 1GB iPod Shuffle 

The winners were determined by the number of correct answers and earliest submission. The prizes were handed over at the Toyota dealer nearest to the winner’s location.

The Toyota On-line Hunt began on 21st April 2008 when participants received their first clue on the Toyota Eco Youth website. This initial clue directed the participants to another web-site, where they received an additional clue, which led them to another website with another clue and so on. This trail of clues ended for the week with a final clue that the participants then submitted to the on-line hunt database.

Each week, new clues were planted and the on-line hunt continued with the final clue of the previous week starting off the new trail of clues. At the end of the seventh week, the submitted answers were tabulated to determine the winner of the on-line hunt.
