Petaling Jaya, 28 March 2008 – The Malaysian Automotive Association’s 9th Annual Dinner today was attended by Alagasan, Senior Director, Ministry of Trade and Industry, MAA Council Members and more than 800 invited guests at a leading hotel.

“We held our annual general meeting for the year 2008/2009 and the new MAA Management Council Members for the 2008/2009 are President, Land Rover Malaysia Sdn Bhd, represented by myself, Vice-President - Trade, UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd, represented by Kuah Kock Heng, Vice President - Policy & Regulation, Tan Chong & Sons Motor Co. Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng, Vice President - Manufacturing, Khoo Khay Chye and Honorary Secretary/Treasurer, Daihatsu Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Belinda Lim,” said Datuk Aishah Ahmad, President.

“The six Council members elected are Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Hyumal Motor Sdn Bhd, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Naza Kia Sdn Bhd and Tan Chong Industrial Equipment Sdn Bhd,” she added.

The TIV for this year is expected to reach 510,000 units which will represent a 4.7% improvement over 2007. Of this total, 463,000 units will be made-up of passenger vehicles and 47,000 units commercial vehicles.

One of the main MAA activities this year is the planning of the KL International Motorshow 2009.
