2007 a successful year for Mercedes-Benz

Kuala Lumpur, 21 February 2008 -- Mercedes-Benz Malaysia recorded an 8% growth in the passenger car segment with 3,606 units in 2007 compared to 3,327 in 2006 despite a very clouded and challenging environment.

The new C-Class launched late 2007, has received strong response from the market with over 1,000 bookings received to date while over 450 units of the S-Class was sold. Meanwhile, the E-Class also performed well with 1,500 units sold.


In the commercial vehicle segment, Mitsubishi Fuso gained market share with a total sales volume of 1,300 units in 2007.

"For 2008, we are optimistic that the brand will break new records as we have a strong line up of model variants. The vehicles we have in our Mercedes-Benz stable is well accepted by the consumer and there is a steady demand for our cars," said Peter Honegg, President & CEO, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.
