Kuala Lumpur, 18 April 2008 – Sime Darby Auto ConneXion Sdn Bhd officially became the sole distributor of Ford vehicles in Malaysia on April 1, 2008, taking over from Ford Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a joint venture between Ford Motor Company and Sime Darby Berhad, which ceased operations on March 31. Sime Darby had been the majority shareholder in Ford Malaysia since 1981.
